We are pleased to share that the Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced that the Arlington Heights Park District was selected as one of the 12 recipients for the Park and Recreational Facility Construction Act (PARC) grant! Thank you to Governor Pritzker, our legislators and the IDNR for their efforts in securing this vital funding. We’d also like to thank our residents for their enormous amount of community support.
The grant, totaling $2.8 million, will be allocated towards enhancements at the Recreation Park facility including improved accessibility, while preserving the original façade of a well-loved WPA building. The project also will complete removal of the current 50-meter swimming pool and subsequent replacement with a new 50-meter swimming pool, along with updates to the children’s aquatic area and additional accessible green space for pool users.
