Park District Annual Budget
The Arlington Heights Park District Annual Operating Budget is a policy document, an operations guide, a communications device, and a financial planning tool setting goals and objectives for use of the District’s funds. The Park District’s Annual Operating Budget has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the past thirteen consecutive years.
Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (Audit)
The finance and personnel department prepares the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which includes the general-purpose financial statements and the independent auditor’s opinion on the financial statements, financial and statistical data for ten years or more, as well as discussions of the financial activities and highlights for the fiscal year. Each year the Audit is submitted to the Government Finance Offers Association and since 1985, the Arlington Heights Park District has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year.
Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
The Capital Improvement Program is a five-year projection of the capital replacement costs and additional capital needs. It does not give authority to spend, but assists with the preparation of the budget by detailing upcoming capital expenditures by funding source.
