This centrally located park caters to residents of all ages with preschool program housed within its community center, the oldest in the Park District (built in 1937 as a WPA project). The park’s offerings extend outdoors to include a pool, bathhouse, and 3 lighted tennis courts. Recent acquisitions have expanded the park’s footprint, further solidifying its popularity. Recreation Park is a hub of activity year-round, but truly comes alive during the 4th of July week when it hosts the beloved Frontier Day Festival and draws visitors from across the community with its premier pro-style baseball field.
Outdoor Tennis Courts
The outdoor tennis court lights are available on or about April 1 through mid-November from one hour before dusk until 11PM. The courts will also be CLOSED during the winter season and will re-open in spring.
